How it works

One order. Three sides of town.

Follow one lunch order through yokal: the neighbor who places it, the shop that makes it, and the town that sees what it adds up to.

  1. 01 · Shoppers

    A neighbor orders lunch.

Order ahead for pickup, get delivery from the shop’s own drivers, or have it shipped. Your town’s shops, today’s deals, and favorites in one app.

  2. 02 · Businesses

The shop gets the order, and the money.

A free storefront and a live order board. Payment goes straight to the shop’s own Stripe account. No commission, no monthly fee.

  3. 03 · Towns

The town sees what it adds up to.

Local spending, the category mix, visitors, and what people search for but can’t find. Always totals, never one shop’s sales.

Privacy by design

Your town sees the town. Never one business’s books.

Anything a town holds can be requested under public-records laws like Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law and New Jersey’s OPRA. So the town portal never holds individual business data in the first place. Every figure is a total, with the protections built into the database itself.

This describes how yokal is designed. Your town attorney should confirm how your state’s public-records law applies.

At least five businesses behind every number
Fewer than that, and the figure is withheld.
No figure dominated by one business
If one shop is most of a total, the total stays hidden.
No working it out by subtraction
Small categories merge into “Other categories.”

Where the money goes

Money never passes through us.

Every payment goes straight to the business’s own Stripe account. The business is the seller of record, sets its own prices, and gets paid out on Stripe’s normal schedule. We don’t take a cut, and we never hold the money.

Do the math

See what delivery apps take from Main Street.

Delivery apps commonly charge 15% to 30% on delivery orders and about 6% on pickup. Work out what that costs one business, or your whole town.
