Free on Main Street. One license for the town.
Businesses and residents never pay yokal. Towns pay one annual license, so nobody takes a cut of a single sale.
How it’s calculated
One annual price, built from your town’s size and its local business community. Every input comes from public Census data, so you can check our math.
Every quote shows each line of the math. If your quote is above your state’s public-bidding threshold, we’ll tell you up front.
Pricing questions
Does yokal take a cut of sales?
No. Businesses keep 100% of every sale. Payments go straight to each business’s own Stripe account.
Who pays the card processing fee?
The business pays Stripe’s standard fee directly, the same as with any card reader. yokal adds nothing on top.
What does a pilot cost?
Pilot towns get 50% off their first year. The license is calculated the same way, then halved. Ask us about the next round.
Will we need to put this out to bid?
Each state sets its own threshold for public bidding. Your quote says whether it’s above or below yours, so there are no surprises.
Where do the numbers come from?
Population and median household income come from the U.S. Census Bureau. Local business counts come from the Census’s County Business Patterns, counting retail, food and drink, arts, and service businesses in your town’s ZIP codes.
