1. These terms
Yokal LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company (“yokal,” “we”), runs yokal.io. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
2. What this website is
yokal.io describes yokal: an app where residents shop local businesses, free tools for those businesses, and a portal for town staff. Nothing on this website is an offer or a contract. A town’s license, a business’s account, and a shopper’s use of the app are each covered by their own agreement, and those agreements control if they differ from anything here.
3. Estimates, examples, and sample data
The commission calculator, pricing examples, “when it pays for itself” figures, and anything labeled sample data are illustrations based on the numbers you choose or on assumptions we describe. They aren’t promises of savings, sales, or results, and they aren’t quotes. Delivery-app commission rates vary by app, plan, and location; check your own agreements. Screens on this site show fictional sample stores and figures. Town pricing on this site is how we calculate a suggested price today; a town’s price is set only in its signed agreement, and the formula may change.
4. Not legal, financial, or tax advice
We mention public-records laws (such as Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law and New Jersey’s Open Public Records Act), public bidding thresholds, and sales tax to explain how yokal is designed. That’s general information, not advice about your situation. Towns should confirm how their laws apply with their own attorney.
5. Other companies’ services
yokal works with services run by other companies, such as Stripe for payments and Apple’s and Google’s app stores. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services, and we’re not responsible for them. The same goes for websites we link to.
6. Our content
The website’s text, design, graphics, and the yokal name and logo belong to yokal or the companies that license them to us. You may view and share pages from the site for personal or evaluation purposes. Please don’t copy the site, use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, or use automated tools to collect content from it.
7. Using the site properly
Don’t try to break into, overload, or interfere with the site; don’t submit false or automated form entries; and don’t use the site to break the law.
8. What you send us
Please don’t send confidential information through the demo form or email. If you send ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
9. No warranties
THE WEBSITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We work to keep the site accurate and available but don’t promise it will always be either.
10. Limit on our liability
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, YOKAL WON’T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE WEBSITE IS LIMITED TO $100.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about the website will be decided in the Court of Common Pleas of Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, or the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, except that either side may use small claims court.
12. Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version here with a new effective date. Using the site after that means you accept the new version.
